Most timeshare resorts require 7-night stays with check-in on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. We can sometimes make mid-week check-ins and shorter stays work — and we're happy to check any dates.
It's 4 steps: 1) search Book Direct for your dates, resort, unit size, and view — every week there is in our inventory, priced up front; 2) book and sign the agreement online, and secure your request with a card hold (no charge yet) or pay by Zelle or Venmo; 3) Lone STR Vacations reviews every request personally — if approved, the hold is captured, we add you as a guest on the resort reservation, and verify the booking; 4) we email your final confirmation in your name. For a week that isn't in the store, just send us an inquiry and we'll search our wider inventory and network for you.
No — Book Direct is not instant booking. Every request is reviewed by Lone STR Vacations before it is approved. Our availability comes from owners' weeks, and while we check in with owners regularly, we rely on them to keep their inventory current — and sometimes they don't, so a week shown as available may occasionally already be taken. If that happens with your request, we'll let you know and offer the closest alternatives we can find. If your request is declined, or the booking stalls for any reason — an owner becomes unresponsive, for example — or we can't secure the resort confirmation after approval, you'll receive a full refund. While a booking is still progressing normally, though, a refund isn't offered just because the confirmation is still pending — confirmations can take a little time, and we'll keep you posted.
Airbnb and VRBO add roughly 15–20% in service fees to every booking. Book directly with us and you can save as much as 25% compared with our Airbnb prices — and often 40–50% off resort rack rates.
We accept credit and debit cards, Zelle, and Venmo. Card requests are secured with a hold and charged only when approved; Zelle and Venmo are paid at request, with no processing fee. Once a booking is approved and confirmed, payments are non-refundable. If a request is declined, the booking stalls, or we can't secure the resort confirmation, you receive a full refund.
Studio / Guest Suite: Great for 2, and works for up to 4. Most larger branded resorts give you a kitchenette/wet bar rather than a full kitchen — though some brands, like Divi, include full kitchens in their studio villas.
1-Bedroom Villa: Ideal for up to 4 guests, with separate living and bedroom areas and a full kitchen or well-stocked kitchenette.
2-Bedroom Villa: Sleeps up to 6–8 guests, with separate living and bedroom areas and a full kitchen. At some resorts, it's a Studio and 1-Bedroom Villa joined by a connecting door.
3-Bedroom Villa: Sleeps up to 10–12 guests, with separate living and bedroom areas and a full kitchen. At some resorts, it's a Studio and 2-Bedroom Villa joined by a connecting door.
As for availability: 2-Bedroom Villas and Studios are the most plentiful, then 1-Bedroom Villas, then 3-Bedroom Villas for major brands like Marriott. Divi tends to have more Studio and 1-Bedroom Villas and fewer 2-Bedroom Villas.
